On April 22, my husband walked into Hannaford in Athol to pick up a few things while I sat in our truck. All of a sudden I saw 3 cruisers come flying in. Then, an ambulance arrived.
At first, I didn’t think anything of it, but then my husband, William Boudreau, was taking longer than normal. I proceeded to go into the store to look for him, looking down all the aisles and not finding him. I got scared and ran to the ambulance and asked if they had my husband in there. They asked who was my husband. I told them, then I caught them doing CPR on him.
My husband would not be alive today if it wasn’t for the two customers inside Hannaford that started CPR, and police, who used a Difibrillator on him. I would like to thank them. The doctors say he’s a very lucky man to of had those people there at that right time — or, he wouldn’t be with us right now. There were no warning signs. He just dropped to the ground.
My husband is still in the hospital, but should be returning home soon. He has had a pacemaker/Defibrillator implanted. To the heroes who saved my husband and whose names we do not know, we thank you.
