Best Buddies will hold its annual Charity Auction at Quabbin Valley Auction, 30 Whitney St. in Orange on Dec. 8. Preview will begin at 4 p.m. and bidding will begin at 5. The proceeds from this auction will stay in the Athol Chapter. This money will help to pay for transportation fees for all the trips, admission fees for the students who cannot afford them, as well as help the cost to sending two student officers to a yearly training program in Indianapolis each year. Best Buddies is a valuable part of the Athol High School Community which strives to create a positive learning environment for all students to find success. Auction items include gift certificates and merchandise from local businesses. Local businesses interested in donating are asked to call Peter Whitmore at 978-652-2231.
