WINCHENDON — The Beals Memorial Library invites one and all to come say “happy birthday!” to Dr. Seuss. On Saturday, March 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the community will come together to read, non-stop, as many of his books as can be read in three hours.
Can all 44 be read in that time? Find out as volunteer readers from all over Winchendon and beyond come to read their favorite book, from his very first children’s book, “And To Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street” to his last, “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” The Cat in the Hat will even make an appearance. Join for one reading or stay for them all. Said Library Director, Manuel King, “It’s a celebration to say, ‘Thank you, Dr. Seuss, for the joy you have brought to generations of children all over the world.’”
To be a part of the Seuss-A-Thon as a reader, contact Patti Stanko at the library, 978-297-0300. The Beals Memorial Library is located at 50 Pleasant St. and the event is sponsored by the Friends of the Beals Library.
