WINCHENDON — The Beals Memorial Library will present “Animal Adventures” Wednesday, April 17, an all-ages program featuring exotic animals from all over the world. Kids will have the opportunity to see, learn about and touch some of the visiting creatures. The program runs from 2-3 p.m. and will take place in the auditorium at the Winchendon Town Hall. This event is sponsored by the Winchendon Cultural Council and the Friends of the Library.
On Thursday, April 18 at 6 p.m., the library will be showing the latest Transformers movie, “Bumblebee.” On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug. The film is rated PG-13.
On Friday, April 19, beginning at 2 p.m., the library will host its annual Friends of the Library Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 2 through 8 years old on the library lawn. The hunt for ages 2 to 5 years old starts at 2:15 p.m., and for the older kids, ages 6 to 8, the hunt starts at 2:30 p.m.. Rumor has it that the Easter Bunny will be there for photo ops and extra added fun. Inside the library, there will be readings of Easter stories and decorating eggs. Registration is required for this event.
