From primetime to matinee.

Today’s highly-anticipated Franklin County League softball showdown between powerhouses Greenfield High School and Turners Falls High School has shifted times. The first of two annual meetings between the defending league co-champions will now be played at 4 p.m. at Veterans Field in Greenfield.

The tilt was originally set to be played under the lights with a 6 p.m. start time, but a lighting issue at Vets Field has prompted an earlier start time.

The rematch is set for May 20 at the Bourdeau Fields Complex in Turners with a 7 p.m. first pitch. The teams split two meetings last year before Greenfield won the WMass Division 2 title and Turners captured the Division 3 crown.
