Here is information for parents seeking to register their children for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten at the Athol Community Elementary School and Royalston Community School for the 2020-2021 school year.
Current Pre-K students do not need to re-register.
The schools will accept copies of all documents — scanning and emailing via a cell phone is fine (they do not need the original birth certificate). Parents can pick up/drop off at either school, regardless of the school their child will be attending.
Packets can be downloaded from www.arrsd.org
At the Athol Community Elementary School, registration packets will be left at the school’s front doors for pickup Monday through Thursday from 8 to 11 a.m. The doorbell is to the left of the front door. People will be buzzed in and they will see a table inside the doors with packets. Parents can call Rachael Chamberlain at 978-894-6005 to have a packet sent to them via U.S. mail.
Parents can call Jenn Basso from Royalston Community School at 351-209-0707 to arrange a time for packet pickup at the school or to have a packet sent to them via U.S. mail.
Completed registration packets (including all documents) can be:
● Emailed to Basso jbasso@arrsd.org or Chamberlain rchamberlain@arrsd.org
● Mailed to Athol Community Elementary School, 1064 Pleasant St., Athol, MA 01331 (for students at both schools).
● Dropped off at the Athol Community Elementary School’s front doors Monday through Thursday, 8 to 11 a.m.
● Parents can call Basso at 351-209-0707 to arrange a time for a packet drop off at Royalston Community School.
School officials will make a determination about the dates and locations of kindergarten screening once Gov. Charlie Baker announces when schools can reopen. Email or call with any questions.
