NEW SALEM — There were no surprises in Monday’s election, as Randy Gordon was re-elected to a three-year seat on the Selectboard and Cameron Dunbar retained his seat on the Board of Health.
According to Town Clerk Stacy Senflug, Gordon garnered 115 votes, ahead of write-in candidate Jeff Lett, with 20.
Dunbar racked up 137 votes for another three-year term on the Board of Health. He ran unopposed.
Sarah Kohler earned 71 votes to win a five-year seat on the Planning Board, beating write-in candidate Amy Fagin, who had 46 votes.
The other election winners are: William Lafley, assessor (three-year seat), 135 votes; Carl Seppala, New Salem School Committee (three-seat seat), 128 votes; Elijah MacCullagh, library trustee (three-year seat), 129 votes; and Christopher Misra, Municipal Light Board (three-year seat), 131 votes.
Voters failed to elect anyone to a three-year position on the New Salem School Committee that saw no candidates. One hundred and forty-five blank votes were cast.
According to Senflug, 149 of New Salem’s 797 registered voters (18 percent) showed up the polls at Town Hall on Monday.
