South Athol Church suppers return

ATHOL – After a short pause during the hot summer months, the South Athol United Methodist Church suppers at 65 Morgan Ave. will return on Saturday, Sept. 20 with baked ham, gravy, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, green beans, fresh dinner rolls and homemade pies for dessert. All prepared and served family-style by our experienced kitchen helpers, many of whom are Serve Safe certified.

Reservations are required and tickets are $15 each for adults, $6 for children over 12 years, children under 12 years old are Free for the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. settings, and are available by calling 978-249-9212.

When making reservations, please specify if they are for “eat in” or “take out,” this will simplify it for servers to accommodate all diners.

Free Royalston flu clinic

ROYALSTON – The annual Seasonal Flu Vaccination Clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Town Hall, 13 on The Common. The clinic, sponsored by the Royalston Council on Aging, is free of charge and is open to Royalston residents who are 18 years of age or older. Health insurance is not required, however, please bring an insurance card if you have one. Up to date regular and high dose flu and pneumonia vaccines are available. Availability of the Covid-19 vaccine will be determined at a later date. 

This year’s clinic will be conducted in the Assembly Hall (second floor) at the Town Hall.  Participants should enter through the rear door to be pre-screened. After successful screening, participants will go to second floor by stairs or elevator, then complete consent paperwork. The vaccine will then be administered. Snacks and lunch in the first-floor dining room will be available.

Vaccines will be provided by Massachusetts Public Health Network in coordination with the Royalston Board of Health. To join reserve a spot for the Wednesday meal (TBD), call Gary Winitzer at 978-249-8957 before 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6.
