Wednesday, March 18
9:27 a.m. – Caller reporting that there is an open door on one of the old Morgan Memorial Fresh Air Camp buildings. Officer confirming that there is an open door and that there is property damage to the door and they are unable to secure it. Advised MMFAC building facility manager of the situation, he will go inspect and re-secure the door and building.
12:27 p.m. – Party reports foul-smelling water coming up through the manhole on Mechanic Street. Attempted to call DPW, no answer. Attempted Water/Sewer, message left. Water/Sewer department called back, relayed info.
Thursday, March 19
11:12 a.m. – Report of a party in lane two of CVS in a black Honda Civic either passed out or sleeping. Party was waiting for her medication, no issues.
12:13 p.m. – Party reports a strange vehicle in her driveway on South Street. When her boyfriend went out to investigate, the driver told him he was waiting for groceries. Reporting party was advised to call if the vehicle returned.
Friday, March 20
8:18 a.m. – Walk in party would like to report someone breaking into his wife’s vehicle. Report taken.
9:11 a.m. – Caller reporting erratic operator all over the road. Pulled in and parked at Ocean Street. Officer transported party to address. Party stated they were too fatigued to drive. Party secured vehicle and was transported to municipal lot.
11:33 a.m. – 911 open line reported. On callback, made contact with two male parties stating they are having phone issues and are all set. Officers advised. Confirmed accidental.
2:29 p.m. – Male party requesting to speak to an officer regarding a call he got from someone pretending to be an Athol officer. Advised reporting party no one called him from the Police Department, advised of scam.
2:52 p.m. – Caller reporting they got a call from someone saying it was Detective Brooks from Athol. Advised of scam.
Monday, March 23
1 p.m. – Motor vehicle stop on Tower Road. Party almost hit officer’s vehicle taking a turn without looking for traffic. Party was given a verbal warning.
1:18 p.m. – 911 caller reporting a vehicle turned from Walnut at a high rate of speed and could not make the corner. Vehicle struck the curb in front of his house. Vehicle had front end damage and was smoking. Newer black sedan, possibly an Acura, left the scene, straight across Main Street onto Canal. Officer spoke with the reporting party who witnessed the accident. No damage was done to any property. Attempted to locate the vehicle but it was gone on arrival.
Tuesday, March 24
9:24 a.m. – Party called and is unsure if her husband’s alert button is working. She stated it was set up to alert and does not appear to be working. She is going to contact the VA and see if they can assist her.
12:41 p.m. – Party calling from Sanders Street, they had a contractor working on their roof and the person found something suspicious. It was thrown in the dumpster and now they are nervous it could be an illegal substance.
1:37 p.m. – Party reporting a Black male on the sidewalk beside a residence on Main Street, screaming and hollering at cars and people. Officers advised.
1:54 p.m. – Second caller from Main Street stated a Black male outside the building climbing up and dancing around the pole on the side walk. Officer checked the area, party was gone on arrival.
Thursday, March 26
12:37 a.m. – Party advised wife is in labor about to give birth, requesting Athol Hospital ER gets the heads up. Officer advised ER. The family made it safely to the hospital and the baby was delivered in the ER.
4:30 a.m. – Caller states there is a snowblower or leaf blower being used on Main Street. Officer advises it is the Athol DPW doing clean up on the sidewalks and roadway. Reporting party was advised.
10:57 a.m. – Reporting party from Hapgood Street stated she had a falling out with a friend who was staying with her. The friend left a vehicle there and it’s been there for a month with no apparent attempt by the owner to have it moved. She would like to know her options. Party was advised of a private town form. She states she does not have any contact information on her ex-friend.
11:15 a.m. – Caller reporting that approximately one year ago he reported his motorcycle stolen from the area. He states he found the motorcycle listed online and would like to speak to an officer about this.
