Orange Transfer Station to have special hours
ORANGE — The town’s Recycling Center/Transfer Station will be open for special hours on April 29, in honor of Earth Day one week earlier.
The facility at 100 Jones St. will be open from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, as part of a community-wide “Roadside Trash Clean‑Up Day.” It is being billed as a great opportunity for people to come together, pitch in and help keep Orange clean. People are encouraged to head out into their neighborhoods, collect roadside litter and bring it to the Transfer Station during the special hours.
Town trash bags are not required. It should be noted that the Transfer Station will not be open for regular business on this day.

Agricultural Commission has garden plots
NEW SALEM — The town’s Agricultural Commission has garden plots to offer in the community garden behind Town Hall.
A garden shed is available for storing shared items: hoses, a wheelbarrow and some hand tools. The gardens are fenced, and path maintenance duties are shared.
Email Deb Rolski at drolski@gmail.com by April 30 to set up a time to select your plot site. After that date, plots will be assigned if they are still available. The fee per plot is $10 for shed repairs and gardening tools.
The Agricultural Commission is also in need of new members. Call Carol Hillman at 914-589-4553 to express interest or with questions.
