The MIAA released its initial version of the power rankings for state tournament play for baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis and volleyball on Tuesday.

The Frontier Regional softball team tops Recorder area teams, ranking fourth in Division 4 . Athol is No. 62 in Division 4.

In the Division 5 softball rankings, Turners Falls topped Franklin County ranking ninth. Greenfield is No. 12 in the rankings. Mohawk Trail and Pioneer Valley Regional were 18th and 19th respectively. Franklin Tech softball came in at 21st. Mahar Regional ranks 34th in the Division 5.

Frontier baseball ranked No. 17 the power rankings in Division 4. In the Division 5 baseball rankings, Greenfield ranked eighth. In the same Division, Franklin Tech ranked 14th. Turners Falls drew No. 18 in Division 5. Pioneer Valley Regional ranked No. 19. Athol came in at No. 36 in Division 5. Rounding out Division 5 baseball, Mahar Regional stands at No. 51.

In the Division 4 boys tennis power rankings, Frontier Regional drew No. 42. Turners Falls ranked 45th while Greenfield ranked 53rd.

The Frontier Regional girls tennis team ranked No. 17 in the Division 4 power rankings. In the same rankings, Greenfield ranked 33rd while Mohawk ranked No. 34. In Division 3, Turners Falls ranked 61st.

In Division 2 boys volleyball, Frontier Regional ranked No. 55. Athol ranked No. 42 in the same rankings.
